His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II - 36th Kabaka of Buganda since 1993. At Enkuuka y'Omwaka, his presence transforms the celebration into a royal gathering. He arrives at 6:00 PM to thunderous ululations from 45,000 subjects.

Traditional Dance
Baakisimba, Nankasa and Mbaga are the three pillars of Kiganda ceremonial dance. Baakisimba is the queen's dance - graceful and stately. Nankasa is energetic and celebratory. Mbaga is a warrior dance. All three are performed at Enkuuka.

Bark Cloth (Olubugo)
UNESCO-recognised intangible heritage. Bark cloth is crafted entirely by hand from the mutuba fig tree - the defining textile of Buganda for centuries. Master craftsmen demonstrate the process at Enkuuka's cultural exhibitions.

Dress
Gomesi & Kanzu
The elegant gomesi and the flowing kanzu are the formal traditional dress of the Baganda. Attendees are strongly encouraged to wear traditional dress. Seeing 45,000 people in gomesi and kanzu at Lubiri on December 31st is extraordinary.
