Kasubi Royal Tombs
📍 Busiro, Kampala
One of the most sacred sites in all of Uganda and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tombs of four Buganda Kabakas - Mutesa I, Mwanga II, Chwa II and Mutesa II - are preserved here within a massive thatched palace structure. A living site of active royal ancestor veneration.

Lubiri Palace (Mengo Palace)
📍 Mengo, Kampala
The official seat of the Buganda Kingdom and home of the Kabaka. Visitors can tour the grounds, historical buildings and learn about the kingdom's modern administration. The site of Enkuuka y'Omwaka every 31st December.

Naggalabi Buddo Hill
📍 Mpigi, Central Uganda
The sacred hill where every Kabaka of Buganda is crowned. A site of immense spiritual and political significance. Visitors can climb to the ceremonial enclosure and experience the ancient coronation grounds.

Namugongo Martyrs Shrine
📍 Namugongo, Kampala
The shrine where 22 young Buganda pages were martyred in 1886 under Kabaka Mwanga II. Canonised by Pope Paul VI in 1964, this site draws over 3 million pilgrims annually, making it one of the largest Catholic pilgrimage sites in Africa.

Nakayima Tree (Mubende)
📍 Mubende, Buwekula
A towering muwafu tree believed to be over 500 years old. Nakayima - a royal princess - is said to have turned into the tree. It is a site of active spiritual veneration and traditional Buganda medicine.

Bark Cloth Villages (Olubugo)
📍 Masaka Region, Buddu
Visit the villages where bark cloth - Buganda's UNESCO-recognised craft - is produced by master craftsmen. See the entire process from tree tapping to finished fabric. The best bark cloth in Uganda comes from the Buddu region.

31st December at Lubiri Palace, Mengo. Gates open 7:00 AM. The Kabaka arrives at 6:15 PM. Key ceremony at midnight.
