Every hour of December 31st at Lubiri Palace - from the opening gates to the post-midnight celebrations.
SME & Trade Fair Day
December 30th is dedicated to enterprise, culture and community. The Enkuuka Museum and Mini Zoo are open all day.
SME Day Gates Open
Lubiri Palace opens for Day 1. SME vendors, corporates and artisans activate. Enkuuka Museum and Mini Zoo open to all.
Enkuuka Museum Opens
Six galleries covering 600 years of Buganda history. Bark cloth workshops, clan exhibitions and royal heritage displays.
Mini Zoo Opens
Living clan totem animals — an educational wildlife experience curated with Uganda Wildlife Authority.
SME Innovation Hall
Entrepreneurs showcase Kiganda-inspired products. Networking, pitches and trade across all categories.
Ekigwo — Day 1 Bouts
Traditional Kiganda wrestling qualifiers. Representatives from all 18 Masaza compete for places in the Dec 31 grand final.
SME Evening Entertainment
Live music and cultural performances close out Day 1. A preview of the main Enkuuka night to come.
Day 1 Closes
December 30th wraps. Grounds clear. All eyes turn to the main Enkuuka celebration tomorrow.
Enkuuka y'Omwaka — The Main Event
The full Enkuuka day — from dawn to past midnight. The Kabaka, the key ceremony, 45,000 revellers.
Gates Open
Lubiri Palace gates open for the main Enkuuka day. Prayers open the celebration. Food courts, cultural tents and vendor stalls activate.
Cultural Exhibitions
Bark cloth weaving, gomesi & kanzu showcases, clan artefact displays. All 18 Masaza delegations represented.
Rising Artists
Young and emerging artists on the secondary stage. New talent from across Buganda.
Community Services
NIRA ID registration, Uganda Blood Transfusion drive, free health screenings open all day.
Main Stage Build-up
Preliminary performances increase in tempo. Multiple artists as the crowd swells into the hundreds of thousands.
Ekigwo Grand Final
Ekigwo (traditional Kiganda wrestling) grand final — champions from Dec 30 bouts compete. Kingdom recognition for winners.
Bike Racing
Competitive bike racing around Lubiri grounds. High-energy competition with prizes.
Top Artists — Main Stage
Uganda's leading artists take the main stage. Full concert production — LED screens, professional sound, pyrotechnics.
Katikkiro Arrives
Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga arrives. Kingdom ministers, princes and clan heads take their positions.
👑 Kabaka Arrives
Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II makes his grand entrance to thunderous ululations from the entire grounds.
Kabaka's Royal Address
The Kabaka addresses his subjects on unity, culture and development. Live on CBS FM 88.8 and NBS TV.
🏆 Omuzira Mbazira — Quiz Grand Final
The Kabaka proclaims the champion of Entanda Ya Buganda as Omuzira Mbazira. The highest intellectual honour in Buganda.
High-Energy Night Show
Continuous headline performances from Uganda's biggest artists. Back-to-back sets running to midnight.
Countdown Builds
Giant countdown screens light up. Pre-midnight pyrotechnics begin. 45,000 voices unify for the countdown.
🗝 The Key Ceremony
The Kabaka lifts the symbolic kingdom key — officially unlocking the New Year for the Baganda people.
🎆 Fireworks!
Massive fireworks display erupts over Lubiri Palace. The Mengo skyline ignites. Happy New Year, Uganda!
Post-Midnight Celebrations
Performances continue into the early hours of New Year's Day. The Enkuuka spirit carries Baganda into the new year.
